Well that was...mildly unexpected, the sudden departure I mean. But wouldn't you think that Aquarius would know that vampires are pale, not green? Ghoul does look more like a zombie than a vampire. Still...I'm wondering what Ghould meant by distraction. I thought the whole point of Nightmare's plan was to convert ot eliminate Zodiac, which the latter is what they're attempting to do at the moment? What on earth could this melee be a distraction for? Guess I'll just have to wait for the coming pages.
The whole point of Nightmare's plan, not Ghoul's plan. As he mentioned earlier and implied he'd achieved lofty heights of magical power only to be humbled and having learned his lesson was simply hanging with Nightmare for something to do and a form of companionship (platonic obviously). Having seen that the portents have changed he no longer has time to waste on Nightmare's plans since he's only with her at his desires not at her command and leaving the field of battle for something far more personal to him, learning what the changes in the stars mean.
nice punch Aquarius! but it looks like Ghoul doesn't want to play anymore, shame really i want to see more of buff Aquarius in action, hopefully we will soon. the look on her face in the last 2 panels worries me, i don't know if shes more afraid that ghoul can do that or the fact that something more dangerous maybe coming soon. at any rate Aquarius doesn't have time to wonder about that now her team needs her!
Something I've always liked are the villains who can engage in deadly battles like that yet remain courteous and well-mannered, proving themselves above the 'common' villain who thinks cursing and foul language are a requirement. One of the reasons I like Dr. Doom (when he's not got some idiot writing him), and you've done the job well with Ghoul.
