Another one of Shinra's experiments, Hati was a normal wolf that was mutated into an anthro and both trained and programmed with the fighting abilities of the Wutai ninjas in order to hunt and eliminate targets set by Shinra.

Problem was it was not a complete success.

First mission was a simple eliminate an escaped lab monster. Hati did defeat the beast but broke protocol in order to protect his handlers/squad mate.

In Hojo's eyes this was a failure but to the surviving members this was a success.

Still a being who would easily forgo orders was not something Shinra wanted so instead they more or less locked him in the basement and just let him out for monster hunting when needed. And as another precaution to make sure both he or other Shinra guards don't get too attached they rotate squads around him.

But that doesn't stop him from taking care of those under his command, some rumors around the monster hunting soldiers see him as the best commander to be under even if he does have the habit of sniffing anyone knew and treating them like pack members and pups.

Also forgot to add this but Hati doesn't have much allegiance to Shinra as he does to the men under his command. So honestly he doesn't care about Shinra just the soldiers he has fought side by side with.
