A picture I took on my forest trip. I'm a bit of a fungi nerd.
I'm no professional photographer but I enjoy taking pictures on my walks and sharing them. 🦊 🐾

In German this one is known as "Hundsrute" which means dog penis. I guess it makes sense. And in English it's known as the "Dog Stinkhorn". This fungus has a strong smell which is irresistible to insects. The insects that land on it spread the spores, thus helping the fungus survive. It's not a common sight in our forest, but I found one spot where it appears every year.
