From modest English Maid's dress to noble Slavic luxury.
From young vixen to noble wife.
- It's funny that this collection didn't include the green summer dress from the Arrow chapter. Because it was the epitome of ‘summer style’, but all in good time.
- Her dark blue dress is actually a signal that she has made her choice in my favour. This dress appears after the Tournament chapter and is worn on romantic occasions. Marian wears this dress on all dates in Sherwood Forest or in her garden. You could say it's her new everyday outfit for her relationship with me. However, she presents this colour choice as the end of her moult, which means she can now afford to wear darker outfits.
- Of course, a wedding dress in the colours of innocence, blossom and fertility is the fixture of our Wedding. White dresses epitomised tragedy and foreshadowed disaster (the cartoon actually makes the case and leads up to it, as Robin has his title back, will go in Crusade and leave Marian to Prince John's care, which is more than murder). White dresses at weddings are a sign of the Victorian Era, not our era.
- The first dress from the Slavic wardrobe is embellished with gems and pearls for my Goddess. Of course, the dress has a bluish hue, signifying the highest degree of wealth. We can afford it. + Gold costume jewellery and gilded piping on the dress, making her look truly more than regal.
- The blue dress from her earlier wardrobe is also sewn in gold, but has fewer jewels. This is her favourite dress as it suits her modest needs. Hence, she made this outfit her everyday outfit, while she wore the other dresses on holidays.
And yes, family life and age and the nobility's sedentary life has made Marian a little bit wider, but I think it even suits her. Now my happiness is even bigger.
Through hundreds of ballads of suffering and blood, death and tyranny, Marian Fitzwalter finds what she has dreamed of - a family and the simple joys of womanhood.
The Sherwood Story becomes the factual basis for Marian's mysterious disappearance in many of the ballads. The stars align as if this is not just a Story...It's more than that.
The children always dreamed of saving Marian from the Sheriff, even though the Sheriff never threatened her.
I have always dreamed of saving Marian from Robin, for I don't want her tragic death. There are too many stories where he dumps her again for “justice and duty”. And almost no stories where she's happy.
For the first time in history, Marian Fitzwalter is not sacrificed, stripped of her title, left in the woods, or oppressed by King John.
You won't find ballads about Robin's family - his family are bandits. But now there is a ballad about Marian - the great girl who has finally mysteriously disappeared from this legend into a world where she will never be abandoned for Richard's whims. She is now my wife and the centrepiece of a new ballad about true love. I am with you, my Little Mistress. Forever and ever, my love. We are creating our history together.
