"--orts of a confirmed hideout of soldiers affiliated with the Zishrin Khanate. Citizens are advised to stay indoors as per orders from the local government."
"Wait, I...I think that's Allister's place." Jacob chimed up as he pointed to the monitor once it switched to a feed of the aforementioned structure. "But...why would he be housing...?"
"Oh crap...if those really are from that khanate, who knows how many are out there." Quinn added in return, his eyes locked onto the television screen.
"If the reports are true, then I guess the garrison would handle them. Though how did they man--"
His question was cut off by the sound of some kind of explosion, one that easily got startled yells out of the group and shook the entire building, threatening to break glass and dislodge some of the lighter items.
Once the rumbling subsided, those inside would hurry to a door leading out, trying to find the source of what caused it. There weren't any pillars of smoke in any other neighboring block, but an exclamation would cause the others to look over, then up to follow their gaze. Situated above was some kind of vessel, typically around the height that most commercial flights would be at. Before anyone could speak, there was a blip of light on the underbelly of the vessel, quickly becoming a thick column of light that was too harsh for anyone without eye protection to look at. It would fade shortly after it began, with some kind of silhouette becoming evident as it did.
Something bipedal stood where the light column hit, with numerous features protruding up from their head, while the rest of their body was difficult to read. Whoever or whatever it was, they were big...huge, towering above just about all of the buildings they were surrounded by. The figure would move with a tilt of their head and even a roll of what could be their shoulders, culminating them raising a leg up before swiftly bringing a foot of theirs down hard. To anyone seeing a feed of the supposed hideout would show an explosion engulfing the place once the giant's foot slammed down on it, the force of both rocking the areas of the city closest to such an event.
The group was stunned to see it all unfold, a couple with mouths agape as they all tried to process what had happened, even as a column of smoke swallowed up the giant figure. The literal smoke screen wouldn't last long, the wind parting it to start revealing features of the giant again.
