Robby, Howard, and Luss all loved dogs. Robby worked with therapy dogs, while his husband Howard worked as a vet. Their friend Luss told them about a place called the Canine Enrichment Center, where they took in dogs and trained them to work with people at their careers. They were seeking help with the latest dog shipment, specifically acquiring dog supplies and training. Robby was onboard, though it took Howard some encouragement.

"It looks like a dog shetler," Robby suggested. "I bet they'd love to have a vet help out."

The paperwork seemed straightforward. Each of them would sponsor a dog and care for them over the next few days. All three signed up, ready to see what would happen.
