Both fascinating and terrifying in equal measure, the Wandering Death is a rare type of undead monster that wields powerful necrotic energies. Its mere proximity to corpses is enough for the dead to rise, as dozens of lost souls, drawn to the creature like moths to a flame, find new homes in the battered bones and rotting flesh of the fallen.
While nobody knows the exact conditions that must be met for a Wandering Death to appear, the great minds of our Kingdom unanimously agree that only creatures with strong innate (sorcerous) capabilities appear to be at risk of turning upon death, especially where many lives are cut short by tragedy and violence, battlefields being a prime example.
Contrary to folklore fearmongering, The Wandering Death is no more 'evil' than a raging wildfire or a violent tsunami. It is simply a force of nature - a ghost, endlessly replaying the last moments of its demise. That doesn't mean it isn't dangerous, however.
If you are brave or foolish enough to linger in a such an unholy place of death and you happen to see one, run as fast as your legs will carry you and don't look back. If you do this, you may yet escape with your life.
Should you get too close, however, you will suffer a truly agonizing death, as your soul is ripped away from your body, much like a piece of metal drawn to a powerful magnet.
If this does happen to you, don't despair, for you will soon walk again... Heheheheh...
