Here's a new song. Not the one I was referrig to in my previous journal, but still something X3
I wrote this after seeing Steve Martin do his bluegrass show. I love the sound of southern harmony. The extreme nasalization of the voice in order to achieve sublime blend qualities. mmmmm
Lyrics:
Oh where, oh were can I find that promised land
In the sky or the bible in my hand
Awake, awake my soul to sing for thee
My voice will guide you home
shatter thine eyes and take ye rest
but I can’t slow down there’s work need done
who’s damned as now may later be blessed
as long ‘s god wills it amen
Chorus
To love thy brother is his command
but I can’t slow down there’s work that needs done
and don’t hate what you don’t understand
as long ‘s god wills it amen
Chorus
well there ain’ no time for fightin’ an’ death
but I can’t slow down there’s work need done
make the love you can before your last breath
as long wills god will it amen
Chorus

You're not fooling about sublime blend qualities :) wow! And I notice more courage about the verb :) here's the secret- though it masks the flaws YOU might hear, it also masks the things listeners will respond to, so you've got to let it be exposed enough that you can still hear the flaws that other people won't notice :)
Truly awesome. Faved :)

I love that man. Actually, I was watching you rehearse Bright Northern Lights with him the other day.
Through the transitive property of compliments, I feel pretty good right now ^///^
I actually tried to do something in that style,

It's buried WAAAY back in my gallery so I"ll save you the trouble of digging it out.

You should feel good. you got talent my friend. >"^_^"<
Oh, were you watching rehearsal cam???? Let me tell you, singing the backing vocal while playing that 16th/32nd note back beat was killing me. I still don't have the lyrics right. I fake it well enough though. Just until I nail them. >"^_^"<

I was impressed at how quickly you got the drum part down. The word velocity in that song is pretty intense. I wouldn't wanna have to do it X3
Hey, I can't remember where I heard it, but are you gonna be performing at Furfright this year with Belic?
We were trying to get a show there, but the best I could wrangle was a little set in a pannel room, which honestly works fine for out style of music (and level of fanbase)

The drums were the easy part. The beat is pretty simple. Matching them to the vocal is where it becomes really tricky.
Unfortunately I will not be going to Furfright. Last year was my last. I stepped down as sound wah/ballroom director and decided to do other things. BUT, if Matt winds up with a gig there, I will be joining him for the set. I just won't stick around for the convention.

Hey Pepper!
Sorry I haven been as active over the last week, I was vacationing.
As for the song itself, the southern tune almost gave a sad undertone, while the main focus seemed to be that of encouragement.
Are you singing with the others, or have you just overlapped your own voice?
'We're all animals in the end',

sorry for the numbers, I'm contending with a Golden pup and she has large paws. It's all I can do not to spill my coffee.
I am very familiar with this song (especially since I love it). Unfortunately, the fellow who wrote it died in a tragic aircraft accident. I discovered the song by first hearing it somewhere - that part escapes me - but then I did a search for him and his music when I was writing 'The Dread Pirate Tabor'. Music has always been an internal part of my writing.
