To me, the turtles seemed... the stupidest-ly named.
Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, Venusaur. Great names. Hints that they're lizard like, very planty.
Charmander, Charmeleon, Charizard, good names, with a constant charing theme.
... Squirtle. Wartortle. Blastoise. NOTHING IN COMMON. Esspecially wartortle. It's like wtf thrown in the middle of it all.
