We all know the scene from the movie resulting in Mufasa's death. Even in my story those events in the gorge take place but as seen in the picture something completely different happens there. It shows the moment when the timelines from the movie and from my story part ways for good. But everything from the start.

After the incident on the elephant graveyard with Simba and my OC Kubwa Mufasa had the feeling Scar was behind it and knew it would be just a matter of time to happen again. So together with Sarabi and Rafiki he came together and discussed what they could do about it. As their conversation went on Sarabi suggested to make use of the supernatural powers of my OC Kiburi. But how to do that, since Kiburi is invulnerable? So Rafiki retired into his tree and thought about it. Fortunately, he found out how to do it and was able to make a potion. The next day Mufasa had drunken said potion just in time when the events in the gorge began.

Once he arrives in the gorge Mufasa immediately tries to make his way to Simba, but quickly realizes it is impossible. He is hit hard by multiple wildebeests, but strangely it doesn't hurt him. Is Rafiki's potion already working? He doesn't know it yet since he didn't have the time to check it out. To get himself back to safety Mufasa climbs back up the wall where he meets Scar and begs him to help him. All that Scar does is sinking his claws into Mufasa's paws but Mufasa doesn't feel a thing.

After speaking the infamous words Scar tries to release Mufasa's paws from the wall to make him fall to his death but he fails. He realizes his claws had never sunk into Mufasa's paws and tries again. It doesn't work. Scar is confused. At this moment Mufasa quickly comes to a realization as well. Scar has contacts to the Outlands. Zira is the name of a lioness from there he hadn't seen in person yet. He had only been warned of her by his ancestor Ahadi many years ago. This realization and his assumption that Simba is already dead because of this makes Mufasa more furious at Scar than ever before. Now that he knows Rafiki has done everything right Mufasa tries to grow the way Kiburi had always discribed it, and it actually works. Within seconds, he becomes so huge that he can stand on the gorge's ground with his back paws. Scar is shocked.

Wir alle kennen jene Szene aus dem Film, welche mit Mufasas Tod endet. Auch in meiner Geschichte kommt es zu jenen Ereignissen in der Schlucht, doch wie auf dem Bild zu sehen geschieht dort etwas ganz anderes. Es zeigt den Moment, in dem sich die Zeitlinien aus dem Film und meiner Geschichte endgültig voneinander trennen. Aber alles zurück auf Anfang.

Nach dem Vorfall auf dem Elefantenfriedhof mit Simba und meinem Charakter Kubwa hatte Mufasa das Gefühl, dass Scar dahinter steckte und wusste, dass es nur eine Frage der Zeit sein würde, bis es wieder passierte. Also kam er mit Sarabi und Rafiki zusammen und diskutierten, was sie dagegen tun könnten. Im Verlauf ihres Gesprächs schlug Sarabi vor, die übernatürlichen Kräfte meines Charakters Kiburi zu nutzen. Aber wie soll das gehen, wo Kiburi unverwundbar ist? Also zog sich Rafiki in seinen Baum zurück, um darüber nachzudenken. Glücklicherweise fand er eine Lösung und konnte einen Trank herstellen. Am nächsten Tag hatte Mufasa besagten Trank gerade noch rechtzeitig getrunken, als die Ereignisse in der Schlucht begannen.

Als er in der Schlucht ankommt, versucht Mufasa sofort, zu Simba zu gelangen, erkennt aber schnell, dass es unmöglich ist. Er wird von mehreren Gnus schwer getroffen, aber seltsamerweise bleibt er unverletzt. Wirkt Rafikis bereits? Er weiß es noch nicht, da er bislang keine Zeit hatte, es auszuprobieren. Um sich in Sicherheit zu bringen, klettert Mufasa die Wand wieder hinauf, wo er auf Scar trifft und ihn um Hilfe anfleht. Alles, was Scar macht, ist, seine Krallen in Mufasas Pranken zu schlagen, doch Mufasa spürt nichts davon.

Nachdem er die berühmt-berüchtigen Worte gesprochen hat versucht Scar, Mufasas Pranken aus der Wand zu lösen, damit er in den Tod stürzt, aber es misslingt ihm. Er bemerkt, dass seine Krallen nie in Mufasas Pranken eingedrungen waren und versucht es erneut. Es funktioniert nicht. Scar ist verwirrt. In diesem Moment kommt auch Mufasa schnell zu einer Erkenntnis. Scar hat Kontakte zum Schattenland. Zira ist der Name einer Löwin von dort, die er noch nicht persönlich gesehen hat. Er war erst vor vielen Jahren von seinem Vorgänger Ahadi vor ihr gewarnt worden. Diese Erkenntnis und seine Annahme, dass Simba deswegen bereits tot ist, machen Mufasa wütender auf Scar als je zuvor. Jetzt, da er weiß, dass Rafiki alles richtig gemacht hat, versucht Mufasa zu wachsen so wie Kiburi es immer beschrieben hatte und tatsächlich funktioniert es. Binnen Sekunden wird er so riesig, dass er mit seinen Hinterpfoten auf dem Boden der Schlucht stehen kann. Scar ist geschockt.
