Continuing the current arc, things aren't getting better...
Sorry if this one has some rough spots in quality. I recently had to make an emergency visit to the hospital and have not been feeling great. I had to crunch to get this one out on time. I also totally exacerbated my injury a little bit, whoops. Hopefully that's all better in time for next week.

In terms of quality, this part seems to be on par with the rest of the series. I don't think there really are any rough spots.
Regarding the story, I think this may just be the best part yet. Most of the folks on Twitter seem to be praising Balthy for finally standing up for himself, but nobody there seems to notice a crucial detail in the bottom-left panel. As Balthy walks by, the wolf appears to be reaching out to place his hand on his maid's shoulder, and is presumably asking if the fox is okay. He seems to be fully aware of his actions' consequences, and showing genuine remorse and concern.

In my opinion you both are right. It's a mixture of emotions he's experiencing, I'd use the term frustration here to narrow it down the best.
I got a whole broader view of this situation, but to not make it an essay I'll keep it on explaining what I mean with "mixture of emotions"
His approach of trying to talk to him, probably wanting to apologize, is definitley a sign of him experiencing guilt while also being slightly annoyed that he has to apologize in the first place. The head downwards as he gets 'rejected' seems like sadness, but also frustration because he got no chance to explain himself and the situation. Combining that the result will probably a mix out of anger, sadness, dissapointment and annoyance towards the fox and himself that it even came this far, because he likes the fox but doesn't know how to handle it as an emotional cold grown person which is probably conflicted in his worldview and self-perception, leading to build up on more frustration and confusion which he now has to deal with. The question remains why he is so emotionally cold in the first place, we barley get background information about him, leaving the question open wether it's trauma, bad experience with relationships (=> Coldness being Self Protection Mechanism) or him just being overworked and oveflodded but not able to show it emotionally because he isn't known to get care from others (Would explain smoking and drinking since it both helps bond with other people and also helps reliefing stress)

Following this Series of them two for a bit now and I do recognize this situation.
And if Balthy is feeling like I did in a past time of my life then K should leave him some space for the next few days and just let him do his „Job“ until eventually the negative Emotions fly by.
When the Time arrives K would find Balthy sitting a bit Numb or sad on the edge of the Bed and this is the moment he could sit next to him and start talking about what he feels or what he does not feel for him.
This could be a good time to be sorry and show it to let him see he has interest in the interaction the two of them have and at the same time this could also be a good time to tell him that he doesn’t have any interest in a relationship or friendship and he just wanted someone to do the laundry and stuff, a Maid for the Housekeeping in short.
Whatever way he goes, I will be crying in love and pain in next room watching what happens.
