Anuhe's dreams and ambitions used to be a lot simpler: Explore Mystery Dungeons, find treasure, and get rich!... Life, as it turns out, doesn't make it so easy.
That's not to say that he isn't successful. Anuhe is actually quite good at finding treasures and ancient artifacts, it's just that they don't turn out to be as lucrative as he first imagined. Most common trinkets do not sell for a high price, and even unique antiquities seem to often come with their own set of... complications. Take his first major discovery for example: four golden bracelets of royal quality resting in ancient ruins buried deep within the earth, and embedded with carved amethyst. They sure had the potential to set up Anuhe comfortably for the rest of his life, if only he didn't put them on first, and then learn that they were cursed and bound his soul to them. If that weren't enough, it also awakened within the bracelets the spirits and ghosts of its past Eeveelution bearers, who Anuhe now lives with constantly.
That was Anuhe's first brush with the reality that magic and the supernatural exist in this Pokémon world, and he's now stuck with the bracelets and the spirits within forever. It isn't all bad though, the golden cuffs do come with a few advantages. They amplify his strength and grant him unique abilities apart from almost all other Pokémon, and the spirits are able to help Anuhe in his adventurers by possessing his body and lending him their strength, sometimes even transforming his body entirely to that of the possessing ghost. However, Anuhe has to be careful with how he utilizes this power, as some of the spirits are more dangerous to unleash than others.
The discovery also helped propel Anuhe's career to some small level of notoriety. While he is not formally enlisted with any Pokémon guild, he is now often contracted by the guilds and other third parties for expeditions that can benefit from his specialties. Living with the bracelets has focused Anuhe's profession on investigating magic and the occult, locating other artifacts imbued with curses or enchantments, and learning more about the true nature of Mystery Dungeons and the world at large, including his place in it. His hope is that his adventures will deepen his understanding of magic, keep others safe from cursed artifacts like his own, and maybe find a way to dispel the enchantment on his soul-bound cuffs. If nothing else, perhaps he could at least learn to better control the bracelets magic and spirits, so that their fate does not end up controlling his own.
