if you mean the one on the jacket, it's actually just a brush, on very low opacity overlayed on top of the colour, then both the shading and the highlights are on top of it on separate layers, the shading is a hard light layer and the highlights is a soft light layer, and then you just have to imagine one consistent source of light, best if it's just coming from a singular direction, and it seems to work out. If you're interested in more details I could show you around how it looks with all the layers
