Went with a new coloring technique on this one and I, personally, really liked the results. As a test I put it up on Sheezyart last night and it's managed to become the lowest rated thing I've ever made though. Maybe it's the lack of a true background (I just used a simple lighting effect since this was largely an experimental image). Of course I didn't get any actual feedback as to why I got a bad score so maybe some other sites can help me out in regards to this.

Hmm. Let's see if I can help. Well the figure's modeled well. However, the primary light source shows yellow on the backdrop, but white on the figure. Some cast shadows from the figure may also help.
I can suggest a few techniques: Try shading with complimentary colors instead of black. It can really improve the look of the shadows. In addition to the light sources, remember that light bounces off surfaces and provides tertiary lighting on the subject. Doing some still-life studies can help you with understanding how light behaves.
I hope this was helpful to you.
