Looks a bit like someone mentioned the stove and suddenly hoggy is like: Oh shit wait, did I leave that on? XD
Love the expression honestly.
Surprise can be so difficult especially without going too cartoony. And this just really hits the good middle :D The shade throwing on the further away eye also enhances that expression to me. cause it highlights the closer eye and gives a bigger feel to it. Making him look more surprised.
Also damn that wrinkling on the mouth corners is soooo smooth! It gives so much depth into the whole face.
