Her name is Sumitomo Yumi, half Japanese, half Ainu.

Once, she was a tracker who worked for the one and only Lord Toyotomi Hideyoshi.
She wasn't a particularly standout warrior, but was good at finding criminals.

One day, she finds a criminal trafficking a necklace from a foreign country that is said to drive people mad. While on the way to bring the necklace back to Lord Toyotomi, she stops at an inn and sleeps with the necklace next to her.

She wakes up on a mysterious fog-covered island called Nebula Island. A place cut off from the flow of time.

There, she finds ruins of lost civilizations from all over time, including places far in her future as well as other people pulled from other time periods. Past, Present, and Future.

The outfit she has is one she put together from what was available in the ruins of a Pripyat mall and a Victory Frontier bunker.
