Someguy Sketches 048 - Nicolette (Rough Design)
Even though I've had the design for Gabby's father, Christopher Skylar, finalized for a while (keeping that one close to the chest until the next arc), it took until today for me to finally make a rough design for her mother, Nicolette Franco-Skylar.
She's a Goodfellow's tree-kangaroo, whose grandparents were from New Guinea. While she used to be uptight about her appearance back when she was an aspiring actress, she somewhat mellowed with age, and now works at Skylar Prints alongside Christopher (I say "somewhat mellowed" because she still has bad tendencies, like trying to hook Gabby up with a suitor).
Animal characters in my story (referred to collectively as 'Anthros' in-universe) range in build from human-like to animal-like, with characters like Lex being on the far end of the animal-like side, and characters like Agni on the more human-like side. Nicolette here is closer to the animal-like side (four fingers, lowered stance), whereas Gabby and Christopher are both near the middle, leaning slightly towards human-like.
I'm most certainly going to revisit this design before the next arc, so expect her to look somewhat different once that starts.
