after Alex Kanevsky, my new favorite painter. His blurry, chunky brushwork gives everything a weird, sterilized feel. I captured it rather inadequately here (yellow against blue doesn't look as good as red against blue, as in the original).

if this were pixiv, i'd rate it a 10. the only thing that exists is shapes.
also, i really like the wings, it looks like glass.

Form is all about shapes, I think. I'm happy with how this came out.

And I'd be on Pixiv if I had something they'd like (like Gundam chicks or something)

I messed up on a lot of it, but the pose and the colors were what I was looking for. The yellow clashed with the blue so I put an overlay layer on it so it's greener than the original.

Thanks a ton, though, I don't like copypasta-ing any existing art.

The light, blue tones, the sterile feel and the reckless brushwork make the tone of this pic kind of sad, to me. Like getting ready for a dreary day at work. I don't mean that in a bad way at all - I like art that has 'feel' to it.

All of my favorite painters use washed-out palettes, dull environments, and strictly un-beautiful models. I am a great fan of dreary paintings, as they tend to resonate with me.

well i guess it depends on your taste in color.
like yellow on blue.
and why people think yellow is an ugly color to print or paint is beyond me.
I happen paint landscapes, sunny and moonlit. LOTs OF YELLOW >:C
