So, one of the inspirations for my sona's designs was Gurren Lagann. The star markings around their eyes are meant to imply the star-sunglasses that Simon wears at the end, and the cool green hue Starry's magic usually is is a reference to spiral power. Actually, now that I think about it, Starry's magic itself is kinda just spiral power but if you could cast spells with it too.

Oh, and if you're wondering what this drawing has to do with Gurren Lagann, the background is basically an homage to that iconic "you're so high up that you can see both the sun and the moon on opposite ends of the horizon" shot in like episode 1, but from the opposite direction.
