Respect is Everything
Jody's persona is that of a quiet, brooding, and aloof individual, a trait consistent with rats in general. When preparing for a match, Jody displays little to no concern for his opponent and performs little for theatrics on his way to the ring. However, when the bell rings, Jody is shown to be deceptively energetic and aggressive in the ring, demonstrating a genuine interest in maintain a winning record despite his flippant attitude in almost all other situations.
As a member of the Avenue, Jody showed little interest in whatever the group's ulterior motives or ambitions were, frequently shrugging off requests or demands from his fellow stablemates to join in on a beatdown. Rather, Jody generally only showed interest in fighting with the group's adversaries if Jody himself felt personally slighted by somebody. As Jody's time with the Avenue went on, he began to show a little more camaraderie with his stablemates, at least in terms of being willing to participate in tag matches without having to be provoked, but maintained his aloof, independent streak throughout his entire run with the group.
Jody is known for his apparent love of cherry lollipops and is frequently seen sucking on one at ringside or backstage while off in his own world. This led to a humorous running gag during his first several singles matches, in which he'd enter the ring while still sucking on the lollipop, and then casually toss it to the referee after the bell rang. The ref would then hold the candy awkwardly, usually upside-down by the stick, while trying to officiate the match one-handed, easier than usual as Jody's early matches never lasted long. After the match, Jody would then reclaim the sucker from the ref, pop it in his mouth and exit the ring.
