Some people were debating whether reindeer and caribou are the same thing (below your comment). But if not, you're damn close as kaz said he is a caribou. ;)

Hmm..pretty much except that reindeer are old world and have been domesticated. Caribou are N. American and were never tamed by the natives.

Different names for the same species. Similar to puma/cougar/mountain lion. I've never even heard either one assigned specifically to domesticated vs. not. They're just used interchangeably.

Yeah, I really like the coloration and the-- a bit heftier build compared to (for example) a whitail. ^^
I like all kinds of Cervidae, though. ;)

He's a caribou, yes. :) Thank you very much for the great job you did on him, and for nailing the shades of his coloring. Again, I adore the details here, from the fringe of slightly longer hair down the line of his chest to the properly tanned wolfskin loincloth. Your talent for paying attention to the small things makes your art all the more grand. :D
