Carl was sitting at his desk, buried in paperwork, but his mind was far from work. His wife's death had left an unbearable burden of caring for his daughter on his shoulders, and he still couldn't figure out how to help her gain confidence and get back on her feet.
His thoughts were interrupted by a knock on the door. Tiras entered the office, followed by a young girl.
Tiras -Karl I've brought a new girl, they asked me to tell you that she's your partner.
Carl looked at the girl wearily.
Carl's A Partner? I was doing well on my own.
He muttered
Tiras, That's the order, the man replied, not allowing the argument to flare up.
Carl, resigned, turned to the girl and asked
Carl- What's your name?'
The girl smiled and replied
Isla-Isla, I hope we can become friends, partner.
Carl-well...we'll see.
