If we take a step back to page one, we can get an idea this is the first time the man is coming in contact with what was a previously normal toaster in his kitchen. Page 4, he mentions that he's never spoken genuinely with any of the entities like them, so there have been multiple others.
If we're going off how she interacted with him, it appears it's one sided and that whatever reality they exist in is hijacked to fit into an "educational" song like second nature to the entities. The toaster seemingly knows what it says are the rules which leads to an existential realization.So we can conclude that she was wound up like a toy, but seemingly has been knocked out of that due to the man fully interfering.
