This was halibut with bacon, a lobster sauce, and pea puree.
This was the course I liked the least. I thought it looked the best, so I expecting a lot. It just lacked a lot of flavor that I was expecting it to have. The fish was good, but it's not a strong fish and needs help to really stand out. The pea puree was ok, but it was not up to the task. The peas themselves were pretty dry. The lobster reduction was REALLY good, but there wasn't enough of it on the plate for me to really get much of a taste of it. If there had been more of that, then this dish would have probably been a much different and better experience.

These food shots of yours make me desperately miss the low-light capability of a solid Nikon system with any fast prime, be it 50, 35, 85, whatever. I shot with the 35 for a long while myself, got it when it first came out and it pretty much never came off the camera body.
So yeah, I was sitting beside you when you shot these and your steady hands leave me monstrously impressed. Any handheld shot at 1/4 should not be this clear. You must be an android or something capable of inhuman steadiness. :B

Yea, I just got the 35mm a couple weeks prior to AC. That wast he first major event where I got to use it. I'm really impressed with the lens, so versatile and sharp. BTW, it was 1/8 in this shot XD
It's not tooooo bad getting a crisp shot at slow shutter speeds if you can prop your elbows on something. In my case, the table =)

I still commend you on steadiness. A big thing for me was shooting handheld in low light, but my hands have always been really shaky so I was locked into VR and other image stabilized lenses. But damn, you just can't get that bokeh anywhere else. D:
Funny, AC 2 years back I just barely got my 35mm f/1.8 in time for the con. Kinda sad to be without it since I ended up ditching the thing when I swapped systems. I still miss that lens. :c
