Amelia woke again in the morning wiping the sleep from her eyes looking at her bag and the flight manual to the boxcar inside. Today she walks among where the giants stood walking where fairchild built the venerable boxcar. She climbed into her truck again ready for this moment ready to take the next steps to save the boxcars. The drive along the old factory grounds was a bit long . the emotions building racing Amelia was standing on Sacred ground for the boxcars their birthplace. Her keys softly jingled the skin of the long gone boxcar bouncing it to was home the manual to the boxcars was home Amelia was home now the next task was getting to one of her old friends.
She had no fancy cameras this time, just her phone and passion heading into the building; the desk attendant only mildly surprised as if suspecting the manual itself was a reproduction but none less checked in Amelia and left her to her own devices. Inside the hanger she walked into various trainers and crafts Fairchild had produced in its time. It held her fancy but it wasn't why she was here she had one goal in mind seeing an old friend. She walked outside there the old gal was sitting as if it was waving hello as if it was popping in and having a chat the stairs were away from the main door she needed to talk to the volunteer in the hanger to get in praying hoping the manual in her arms would give her the way in.
Walking up to him when he was free she gestured at the manual stating she had something that he might rather want to see something from here, something that's come home. As the binder opened the man's eyes widened in shock as he read over the numbers on the manual the revisions it had gone through. Once the shock wore off he realized unlike the desk clerk this was real and Amelia without skipping a beat asked “would it be possible to get inside the boxcar?” The man gave a resounding yes and went to ensure it was able to be boarded. She walked outside towards her old friend helping the man to bring the stairs close.
She walked in eager to get into the cockpit knowing she'd have no issues with the man moving something from the way and she rapidly climbed in ignoring the planes built in ladder! Amelia was home again walking alongside her friend as if the two were inseparable. This boxcar was laid out differently from the other she turned and asked for the permission she craved sitting in the pilot's seat. There in reality was no issue she went to sit down the old plane creaking softly as the seats were and the shocks for it were done she was quite surprised as she clunked down finally in the seat she had dreamed of. Amelia was home inside the boxcar with the manual sitting there taking it all in.
Amelia posed the manual some places debating just for a moment leaving the manual for them to find to be surprised shocked that shed left it but sadly she couldn't she could not give up such an important item to her she left the place with the thought she cannot give up the boxcars rely on her to survive now.

I was disappointed when they stopped letting the public in the '82 and '119 cockpits during their events, but at least they keep her inside the hangar now most of the time! It was a spectacular experience the few times I have gotten to sit in that seat myself.
