So yeah.. I got some good avocados the other day and decided to make something out of it.. Just a simple little dessert item you can easily make in say..... five mins or so..
What ye need:
1 Ripe Avocado
Some Sugar
Some Milk (Fresh or Evap) preferably Evap
Some Cream (I used Nestle Creme thats chilled)
Chocolate
Barquillos
Polvoron
What to do:
1. Remove the Skin and seed of the avocado.
2. Cube the Avocado (or in my case, randomly chop it up) and place in a bowl
3. Add milk for the creamyness (less is more creamy) to the avocado and mix
4. Add sugar to taste
5. Place in glass.
6. Top with cream.
7. Add grated chocolate on top.
Some optional stuff:
8. Put some polovron inside the barquillos and insert into the glass.
How to make polvoron:
This is quite easy to do.. Polvoron is a powdery snack made from milk and flour..
not sure on the exact amounts as i cook by estimating the portions.. but this should be a rough guide..
2 parts flour
1 part powdered milk
1 part sugar
1 part melted butter
1. toast the flour in a big pan (or wok as i use a wok)
2. add in the milk and sugar and mix well
3. add the melted butter last and mix well
4. eat up or mold into wrappers or put inside the barquillos for decoration on the creamy avocado
How to make Barquillos:
Honestly,i dont really know. I had some ready made ones i bought. But i did some research for you guys:
Ingredients
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 egg whites
2/3 cup all-purpose flour
Directions
Preheat an oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly grease 2 baking sheets.
Beat the butter, sugar, and vanilla with an electric mixer in a large bowl until smooth. Add the egg whites one at a time, allowing each to blend into the butter mixture before adding the next. Mix in the flour until just incorporated.
Drop teaspoonfuls of the dough onto ungreased baking sheets. Spread thinly with a spatula or the back of the spoon into a 3 inch circle.
Bake in the preheated oven until browned along the edges, about 5 minutes.
Remove the baked wafers from the baking sheet one at a time using a spatula or kitchen turner. Roll each wafer around the handle of a wooden spoon until the edges overlap. Cool seam-side down on a wire rack until completely crisp.
