This is a spider demon, they live in the glacial sections of the underworld, in little nooks leading to caves, along the walls of the canyons, simple clothing made from their silk holds up as good as some fine armor in combat, a good pick for mages, their hair is also made of this silk, and is very soft and slick.

Their venom does not simply paralyze or kill, instead it entrances, the bitten becoming their servants, but after 3 days this will wear off, and the bitten can escape.
They're not hostile per se... but they are kind of mischievous pricks generally

(To add, an adventurer, if having pissed off a spider demon, can resist the bite if they have high enough willpower, so becoming a butler to a spider isn't guaranteed.)
