Another shot from the platform at the top of the tower. Unfortunately I did not think to get a shot of the tower from a distance. I'll get one next time I go out there.
Part of the reason climbing this thing was so tiring was the click rail slider caught about every third time I took a step on the way up and EVERY step I took on the way down, so I kept having to manually coax it along. This made what should have been largely a leg exercise into an arm exercise, too.
It was also a giant pain in the ass getting off the click rail at the top, and replacing the obstruction lights up there was no fun either. My fear of heights left me alone while I was inside the framework of the tower, but ugh, standing on that platform with its minimal rails was scary, even with all my fall arrest gear attached.
Oh yeah, and the idiot who designed the thing made all the ladder rungs L shaped instead of round. I guess it saves weight, but they bit into my hands even through gloves. And thank God I had boots with steel shanks.
