Sorry, for replying so late!
I used to think more on cars in my younger days after playing Need for Speed Underground. The most I've thought about them recently was for an idea I wanted to flesh out for a story set in a Grand Theft Auto type city. I was having a good time imagining makes and models. I even sketched out a few.
Broadly, working on art brings me back to cars and vehicles as topics to study. It'd be great to get a deeper understanding of how they work. There really aren't enough hours in a day. I'll have to steal some hours from someone else...

I've never heard of an irrational hatred of cars. I guess they're traumatized unicyclists?
My first thought was, *I didn't know such a thing was possible*. So I have a vague, positive feeling about it. I kind of put it in the same universe as Arcee the Autobot.
Your designs seem to evoke the movie, Cars, so I'll add that I like that you have the headlights working as eyes and not the windshields

Maybe, irrational pedestrians that were hit by cars and for some reason blame the car and not the driver, environmentalists that just don't like cars because of their farts. Ect.
Yeah? I'd like to think it'd be a positive thing to find out about, it tickles me when someone finds car pinups for the first time. lol
That's interesting, it seems like there's a really strong instant association with cars and transformers when it comes to normies ie: non mechiphiles/objectum-sexuals.
Transformers are probably the last thing I ever associate with cars, personally. They're robots wearing car costumes, them being disguised as cars doesn't make them cars and that's not the form people think of when they think of transformers.. they think of them as giant robots. I don't know.
Ooooooh yeah, that's my major critique of Cars, you have totally unique natural faces on cars already. You waste all that potential and just stamp on identical mouths and eyes on every car in that universe to the point where people to this day can photoshop those eyes and mouths on REAL cars in 5 minutes. It throws away all the natural face structure the actual car already has, it's such a waste.
Besides, physiologically, I've never seen the cab as a core part of the cars body, its more of a backpack hump.. or like a horse with a canvas-roof saddle.

I hate to tell ya buddy, but I might just have to get a little revenge on your car-vore pictures. Give you car-nom-fans a little taste of your own medicine. ; P You've probably seen I've got a growth-ray I've zapped a few cars with. Might just have to see how cars enjoy a diet of furry!

Sorry this is so late!
Well, from the normie perspective, I have to make a connection to sexy and anthropomorphized that did not exist before. A normie can describe a car as sexy and not mean that they are physically attracted to it. That's the typical case. Robots are probably the most immediate connection to mechanical, anthropomorphized, and potentially attractive. Then, adding "car" in the mix leads one pretty quickly to Transformers.
Your carfolk are interesting because they seem biomechanical, which I think is a unique leap. You have the front of the car merge essentially into a human body until you get to the rear, which is a car rear, and the limbs which are back to mechanical.
If I were to anthropomorphize cars, I actually don't know what approach I would take, but I would definitely borrow your biomechanical insight (if you didn't mind).
Re: faces, I wonder if that is why I dislike cars from the 80s. I see the faces as ugly because I place the eyes at the headlight. If I start looking at the windshield first, I wonder if it wll make the car look better...
Honestlyyyy, I don't have a dog (pun) in the car v furry fight. I'm a neutral observer, or maybe an opportunistic mercenary. Maybe even an escalation facilitator. I think it's a pure good for all sentient races to produce art of this feud. A FEUD THAT SHAPED A GENERATION!!

Hey no problem, sure you're a busy person.
Making a connection to sexy.. never a bad thing. That's always been something that's confused me, I know in my head that when a normie calls a car sexy they don't mean SEXY sexy.. but I struggle to understand what they mean, other then slang.. like that they actually mean 'really cool/badass.' But then at the same time, why do car manufacturers intentionally design cars to be so curvaceous and alluring? Obviously it's to entice people to find them appealing and buy their cars, but what part of the normie brain finds those curvy thicc cars 'attractive' but no in a 'sexy' way? Especially when those same body qualities on a person IS traditionally sexually attractive? Plus on the other flip of the dick you've got car makers like Infiniti making outright unmistakable 'faces' into their cars, for what reason??

They are bio-mechanical, that is, purely mechanical imitating biology.. using nano-machines and such. Sounds like you've looked at some of my lore pieces much appreciated by the way! I can see how it looks like human body with car head and ass but no.. I mean the cars whole body is a car body, it's just flexible and they're wearing clothes a lot so I can see how they would cover up their body a lot of the time. My cars can go on all fours and be driven as a usual car, so in a way they're their own breed of transformers.
I wouldn't mind at all bud! I'd be flattered to see your take on it.
Re: It could just also be that 80s cars are overall pretty boxy square and unattractive, it was a pretty ugly utilitarian decade for cars. I kinda love the 80s flip-up headlights though, not counting for the adorable Miata.. so many of those cars look so adorably sad/scared. <3
Well said Manamultis!
