Not a vampire, but I did had a nightmare about flesh-eating equines. I was basically in the middle of the snowy woods with a camp fire. some young kid, looking twelve years old warning me of something before he took off in the open snow field. suddenly a bunch of shadow-looking feral equines came out from all around and overwhelmed him and literally tore him to pieces like a pack of carnivores. As quick as they appear they ran off.... with pieces of the kid. I saw a manor up in the distance and ran to it, while staying on the trail, and you can guess what was chasing me. a pack of black horses with sharp teeth, even given me a toothy smile. next thing you know, I have no idea how i got a sharp blade, but I used it to slice and stab and beheaded one while I was fleeing for my life. I made it inside the manor, dont know what happened after that.
That might make an interesting short story, or even a film, just hopefully not one as laughably bad as the Sci-Fi Channel movies. If memory serves correct, the concept of man-eating horses goes back to the Twelve Labors of Hercules. You didn't watch Hercules or the Brothers Grimm that night did you?
No I havent though. It just suddenly came.
It would be nice to see it in a story or a film, but more like side creatures are like the Crematorian Hellhounds were in Chronicles of Riddick. give them like a few appearances.
Though this really created me an idea, we need more carnivorous horses.
