I've seen a few cool things in my lifetime: an asteroid that was visible in the night-time sky on my way to a night owl temp job, Mars, Jupiter (with a few moons orbiting it too!) and Saturn through my Dad's old telescope, at least one solar eclipse, and a few lunar eclipses.
I've yet to see a comet or an aurora borealis though. I like trees, but the big ones (along with the buildings within the skyline) make comet-viewing difficult.
