Zero desire to see that show, not into rednecks shooting gators for fun.

I will say there are some rednecks on there but most of them are cajun. They are not shooting them for fun. It is how they make a living. How they have been doing so for 300 years. They are keeping the population in check. The season is only a month long. if they did not hunt them the population would explode. Resulting in too many gators not enough food. In which case there would be alot of alligators starving Which would also result in more human attacks.

mating season starts in april and lasts til july. Gators can lay as many as 50 eggs. So unlike mammals that have only one or two offspring you can see how the numbers could definately climb. This is why they were able to make a comeback after they were nearly hunted to extinction. though the regulations regarding hunting them are alot stricter. Not anyone can do it. Its a lottery only so many permits and tags are issued per year per person and in many states only residents can get these tags while nonresidents might have to spend 5 times as much to be able to.
