Based on H.P. Lovecraft's "Shadow over Innsmouth"
The Fishfolk of Anchor's Rest, Massachusetts are quite the spectacle to behold, and one would not believe it for themselves unless they had seen them with their own eyes.
While some spew rhetoric that the fishfolk are odd and backwards and violent to outsiders, the townsfolk are quite peaceful albeit a tad bit reserved due to treatment from outsiders due to their appearance.
Their pantheon too is harmless enough. Some say their worship of the aquatic "deep gods" as they call them is evil or immoral but they too are ignorant to the fact that the townsfolk are like any other person you'd meet and they're human at heart as many of them WERE human once.
Some blame their appearance on prolonged worship of the deep gods. Others say a chemical spill infected the nearby fish population and then spread to the human townsfolk. Others say its aliens. No one except the reclusive fishfolk know for sure but maybe that's for the best. Seeing as how poorly their human contemporaries have treated them you couldn't blame them for being untrusting of outsiders.
Here we have the crew of a small fishing vessel, all of which have the unique biology of the fishfolk. Hector Torres, known as "Blindey" for his somewhat poor eyesight is one of the three crew members of the vessel. Captain Dunnegan is the eldest and most experienced of the crew and has led his men through the roughest of squalls. Herby "Buddy" Biggs is the rotund and cheery deckhand who helps out around the boat and keeps spirits high with his unwavering optimism and sense of humor.
These three fisherman were from my original draft of designs for innsmouth style fish people that I wanted a heavy cephalopod influence on. Overall im really happy with how it turned out.
