You may have noticed by now that nearly all images of my OC depict her in a cute style. Up until today, there were two exceptions: a fanart by Superzebraaa - who sadly deactivated his account - and a more expressive, more cartoony piece by InuHoshi-to-Darkpen. In 2025, I decided to actively look for artists with a distinctive, more cartoonish style to shake things up a bit. What you see here is the first step in that direction—"committed" by a certain Katnay.

Katnay was the perfect choice in many regards. Firstly, I've been following him for quite a while now and I always found his style pretty neat. Secondly, and obviously, he has a rather unique art style that makes him easily stand out from the rest. (E.g., the slit pupils that manage to retain a level of cuteness while making his drawing subjects extremely expressive at the same time.) Finally, his price for a fullbody color commission was way below my $100 threshold.

As for the process, I'm happy to say that Katnay exceeded my expectations both in terms of quality and speed. I commissioned him in early February 2025, asking him to draw Dash in a pose I saw in a Patreon post of the legendary Thomas Fischbach (Twokinds). Later that month, I already got the first sketch. And a week after that, the finished version was ready. So, if we exclude the waiting time, this drawing was done within just two weeks, making Katnay one of the fastest artists I ever commissioned—besides Scarlet-Eclipse, Puetsua, and Midnightfire1222. And now that we mentioned Scarlet, Katnay is also the kind of artist who nearly nailed what I wanted to see on the first try; the finished art piece only contained minor adjustments thanks to everything else being perfect.

What else can I say? Katnay is most definitely on my "I will commission him again in the future" list. In the meantime, enjoy my pajama-loving teen deeragon girl. :)
