Brejar's Cards plus warmup
brejar commissioned four cards from me so I decided to devote a stream specifically to her and get them all done at once. The first card is not Brejar's character but my usual Three warmup image. She hadn't logged in yet and it helps me if I start off with something familiar. Plus since it's usually a card for me if I screw up I don't feel so bad. Folks thought at first this was another image in my romanesque universe but I just decided to draw her dolled up in a gauzy dress. I think someone else dressed her up or insisted she wear what she's wearing because she doesn't look entirely comfortable in the outfit.
The rest are Brejar's cards.
First she wanted the male version of Brejar in the Tron universe as per the tron theme I did last year. Drawing a black wolf in a black skinsuit wasn't easy but I did my best. Since the characters have silver highlights I decided that silver circuitry patterns would look best. I like how the actiony pose came out!
Next is female Brejar as a MLP. I try to keep the design of the ponies I draw to not look like simple screen traces of images from the show but hold some hints of my own style. I also try to keep the design simplistic and not overly detailed. So here is Brejar the black pegasus pony. I put grey stripes in her mane instead of doing lots of detail to muddy it up.
Then she wanted me to do a two card spread of male and female Brejar together. Having two black wolves side by side was tricky, but I do love playing with black fur and the little hints and highlights that come with it. I tried to pose female Brejar feminine and sexy and male in some cocky "I know I'm sexy" masculine pose. Another thing I try to do when I make these spreads is that I want the cards to stand out individually but also form a whole. I think I did a good job with that as well. Also it doesn't scan well, but male Brejar's shirt is app glam and sparkly.
Thanks for another fun session, folks!
All these cards are on 2.5 x 3.5 inch illustration board (2.3mm thick!) inked in sepia ink, and colored in copic marker and touched up with gelpen.

Thanks, you can see the female's costume in full detail in my gallery by Clemikou. Clemikou took a basic idea I had and made a fantastic outfit, and Gen did a great job reproducing it. :)
Yes, I love my pony *squees* I agree that she captured the spirit without carbon copying the show. That is the #1 thing I love about Gen is her originality. She makes things her own, and that is what matters to me. They all came out fantastic. :)
Very happy wolfie. :)
