I got one from the hardware store, they are pretty neat. It is like a tiny gray box with a trap door. you puts deh peanut butter in one end and when the mousy crawls in to eats it, his weight tips the scale and the door shuts behind him. Then you got your self a live mousy! =D
But make sure you remove all the traps if you plan to leave the house for an extended time, I went on vacation for a week and when I got back the mousy, well, it didn't move no mores. o.o

There's a MASSIVE difference between taking a wild mouse, shoving it in a cage, calling it a pet [which will last about.... 5 seconds before that mouse bolts out between the bars] and domesticating FANCY MICE [aka not deer mice, house mice or field mice] for pet use.
You know the first reference to pet mice was 1700 BC? :) Yeah, a wild mouse is not a pet and they're also covered in mites, fleas and diseases.

don't they have cures for those things now? Also, it is your bag of pasta's fault, setting on that shelf for day taunting them with it's dry deliciousness. It is like entrapment for them! O_O That is why I seal all my dry foods in plastic bins so they won't be tempted by it. It is safe and neat that way. =)
It also sounds like nice will make a great pet!

Rats can be taught tricks, can be walked and get very attached to their owners [almost like a dog]

I think your point is mute then the guy defending the rats is going to kill them after the video is over. That is like the butcher saying "Cows make great pets, but don't get to attached." Got any videos of people defending rats where the rats don't immediately die afterwards?
I've owned both and I can say 200% that they are friendlier, snugglier, more athletic and funner to watch than hamsters. All my hamster used to do was chill in his cage in the day sleeping and run like crazy at night.
My rats would run to the door of their cage if they saw me, I'd let em out adn they'd chase me as I walked around, trying to climb up my pantlegs. If you do plan on buying a small pet, I definitely suggest choosing rats.

I actually had a hamster that escaped from his cage and disappeared for over a year. Then one day when I was going to school I seen him running across the living room floor. At the time I had no cage for him so I put him in a crayon box and took him to school with me. The teacher took him from me and put him in the school lab in one of their cages. They said I can have him back at the end of the year. So, when the end of the year came I asked for him back but they refused saying I had nothing to hold him with. And to this day, I never forgave my middle school for stealing my hamster! I think they just wanted one of their own but where to cheap to spring for the $5 and stole mine instead.
