Iv's reference: here
I had some help translating my new character's backstory, so, I'm running to share it with you!
Iv was born and raised in a village hidden away from civilisation in a deep forest. His people lived surrounded by other Sylvanus, neighbouring a gnome town inhabited by tiny pixies. It was not uncommon for nomadic elves to drop in on both settlements, bartering with their neighbours.
All three peoples lived harmoniously, friendly, because of their common enemy - the stray undead that wandered aimlessly through the ancient forest. Elves and Harengons were the most warriors. Iv was one of them. He was a skilful archer, hitting the dead on the approach to the village. He admired his uncle, formerly the head of the guard, but he also remembered his father, from whom he had learnt carpentry. As the years passed, Iv became more and more proficient in warrior skills, often going out on patrols and learning to listen to the forest.
A little after his coming of age, something happened that turned his life completely upside down.
One summer day while patrolling the outskirts of the village, Iv was walking along the edge of the forest. Right by an open hill full of fragrant flowers. The weather was fine, with only a couple of light clouds crossing the sky at a leisurely pace. From the side of the hill, laughter and a thin pair of children's voices came to the sensitive hare's ears. Iv turned at the sound, spotting the children in the tall grass. They were his two nieces, five and three years old. The girls were picking flowers and frolicking in the grass, which wasn't very plentiful deep in the forest. And all would have been fine... If they hadn't travelled so far from the village.
Archer left his usual route to call out to the girls and take them home to his older sister. But barely had he stepped out of the forest onto an open hill when a huge shadow swiftly swept over the guard. A loud eagle's cry pierced his ears. In the sky above them flew a griffin from nowhere.
Iv immediately rushed to the girls, shouting to them to huddle on the ground, to hide in the tall grass. But only the eldest listened to him. The youngest was too far away from her sister and froze in horror at the very top of the hill with a bouquet of wildflowers in her tiny hands.
The monster circled round and swiftly sped down, grabbing the bunny, and just as quickly began to gain altitude. Iv snatched up his bow and took aim, but.... The griffin was flying too fast. The monster was too far away in a measly few moments.
Bringing his eldest niece home Iv couldn't accept his sister's tears and his own powerlessness against the monster. He vowed to himself that he would find this griffin and bring his niece home, refusing to believe in her destruction. Iv left his home village and the forest, heading in search of the monster.
