Lapis was born to master magic and weave the greatest spells with quickest of ease; He traveled and studied under the wing of Miss Jade, a fellow Capra-Ovis. (who he would later discover was his mother) On his sixtenth birthday, he was given an audience with Princess Celestia; at the time, Ponies and the Capra-Ovis were not on equal terms. This was to be seen as an act of peace. But the night before the big day, Lapis was practicing his performace at the same time as the passing of Otauris's Comet. A celestial body that crosses the skies over Equestria every One-hundred years. It was then that Celestia appeared before Lapis, and without warning, cast a spell sealing him within the comet! Lapis, along with everone else, thought that the Princess did what she did out of fear of his power. She must have seen Lapis as a potential threat; and to prevent a disaster, he had to be exiled. It was the only logical explination!

For a hundred year he floated through space! With growing spite as his only companion. Finally, the day came for his revenge! He was in control of the comet now; and he caused it to hurtle into Sweet Apple Acres...
