Only because my parents love huskies and they wanted to replace my husky cross that died when I was five, so we got our husky malamute cross and continued from there.

Every husky has a different personality. Our old husky/malamute loved to run and my mom would take him on daily walks until he became too old and arthritic at the age of 16 when he died. His mate only did what she wanted and if you wanted her to run, she sit and glare at you. His son, the father of these puppies, loves to run and play like the big teddy bear he is. His mate is extremely playful and hyper. Every dog is different.

It's more often that those at shelters are more high strung and energetic because their previous owners couldn't give them the attention and affection they require. The father of the pups was one we sold as a pup, a year later the man who purchased him asked us if we wanted him back because he couldn't give Draco the attention he needed.

You certainly can. They're attention hogs and need that love and affection.

I'm doing my best to keep him. He was abused a bit before I got him and when I tried training him for Stock Dog more people abused him because of what they were taught to do to other people's dogs. He's very shy and needs work.

ikr ... what ima do is go to a dog rescue where my friend works and bring the dog home for a day and see what its like :)

You can always become a foster parents for shelter dogs.

One of my friends works in a pet store and fosters birds, he's adopted a few through it.

It's fun, but when you're doing your firned's job and he's getting paid for it while you aren't, it's a little annoying.

Yeah, but when all you're really doing is helping in giving medication, feeding them, and cleaning up after them and you already do all that stuff at home for free for your own dogs, it doesn't make you feel like you're much.

I'm 23, been out of high school for a long time and I can't even use this volunteering to get into veteranairy courses. Basically it's pointless volunteering.

not for me tho ... ima be a sophmore in highschool next year ... i have 20 hours and 30mins ... extra volenteering will help ... + itll be fun :3

Volunteering can be fun if it's not something you already do on a daily basis while not volunteering.

well i do enjoy volunteering .. so yeah :3

It can be fun, but when you have no job and you do all the volunteering that someone normally gets paid to do, it's a little aggravating.

Well that guy was the first to be sold. And I know how hard it is to lose a husky. We owned the parents of the father of the puppies and his father died back in 2008 while his mother died just this January.
