I am led to understand that, far back in the early days of star travel, one needed to actually use manual controls to operate ships. A time where bridges had hundreds of monitors, readouts, even analogue gauges. I shudder to think of the needless complexities.

These days, one reaches out to ones' ship through ones' mind, sees the ship's sensor feeds overlaid on your own vision through direct mind interface, feels the ship around ones' self, and directs it through focus and desire and will.

As for me? I am a Pilot and Navigator, belonging to the grand Explorer's Guild. I have training in basic non-causal sciences and interface, an understanding of astrophysics both academic and practical, and a inborn feel for the spaceways half heritage and half database. I stride the stars in an exploration vessel, one owned by the Guild, tasked to go to the places no-one has seen, to walk new paths, and come back with knowledge in hand.

I am Velora Kaidad, Guildswoman, Rated and Bonded Pilot and Navigator, and the stars themselves are mine!
