Okay, so your entire being got scrambled and you're still trying to figure that out, but on the other hand, sixth grade doesn't start for another month and you finally talked someone into getting you that secondhand Yellow cart from FuncoLand.

Never underestimate a grandma's ability to find the most embarrassing clothing ever. At least Ricky seems to be adjusting well. (Has she picked out a new name yet? How long before she starts practicing using her feet-hands to hold a controller/gameboy? ^_~ )
I actually managed to get a little bit of writing done the other day on the next Vayryn chapter. With luck, I'll even be getting chapters going again before much longer. Stuff like this just makes me picture the MMY world's future, as yinglets slowly become more common over time...

It's pretty much a contractual obligation, for older relatives ;) But yes, (s)he seems to be doing okay for the moment ;) (No idea about names; they probably don't even have a notion of what "yinglet-ey" names would be, but it's an open question to what extent she internalizes the "girl" part...)
(Glad to hear it - need to catch up on the last couple chapters of MMY myself...!)

(The last couple chapters are indeed a doozy. Chapter 16 was 10,358 words, and then Chapter 17 ended up a whopping 14,773! To think, when I split them up, I was thinking "If I don't split this into two chapters, it's gonna pass 10k words." I did not expect 25k... >.< )
I suppose their ability to know what a "yinglety" name is would depend on the prevalence of yinglets in that universe. If it's 2000s-ish, there's no chance. But given that Grandma was able to find a "stilt rat" shirt, I kinda imagine that yinglets are a thing, even if rare. Something like 1-2 years into MMY or similar, or the Xanadu thing that has at least one yinglet running around and potentially more.
Of course, their desire to actually adopt a stereotypically yinglet name is another question altogether. How much of their current calm is acceptance and how much is repression/denial/escape? Author brain go brrrrt on that question, hehe.

(Yeah, I hear you - I try to keep "Nyandemic" chapters around ~3k to keep my buffer from running low, but there's one in the upcoming part of the story that's around twice that. Just couldn't split it without breaking the flow...)
Yeah, you gotta wonder; if this is the "Original Character" spin on "Xanadu," then she's probably not the only yinglet out there, but how much of a support structure is there...? Hmm.
(Also a good question as to how she's processing it; Mom is...not exactly a stable influence, but Grandma seems to be more so, embarrassing shirts or no. That's nothing new, apparently, but does having your sex/species scrambled exacerbate that tension, or punt you past the point of accepting that it was ever "normal?" Hmm.)
