Did you use inks or other wet media? Paper gets crumpled when it gets wet, so that's probably it.
You can avoid it by using heavier quality paper or "stretching" it; you wet the paper, smooth it down along a surface like an MDF board with a clean sponge, then tape it down with special paper tape that gets sticky when it's wet. If it's taped down good when it's wet, it'll be really tight when it's try and not wrinkle when you paint on it.
