Sifyro's experience over at Santiago Fest AKA SAFE, a convention I also went to in Chile.
Thankfully, she still managed to have a good time despite the water from Chile.

Sorry about your bad experience.
Tap water in Chile is safe to drink. And we drink it without any problem, but foreigners, especially from countries outside Latin America, are not accustomed to our water, with its heavy minerals and microscopic environmental fauna. Each country has its own drinking water characteristics, and for that Reason when I went to Brazil, I was careful to always drink bottled water, never tap water, even if it was safe to drink.

Just to clarify, I am 100% fine, it was sify that had the bad experience, and neither of us are foreigners.
Speaking for myself, I've lived in Chile for my entire childhood :P I do agree that its important to drink bottled water when abroad, its just a mystery to me at least because I've had water from Chile before.
I am sure sify has had water from Chile already in the past as well, we just don't understand what the heck happened with the water from that hotel.
