As the Apostles have demonstrated; strength of body and soul, a strong resolve, and a reason for fighting has allowed them to unlock their spiritual power. As such they are much more resilient and fully capable of combating the demonic beasts known as shadows! However, while Apostles have successfully unleashed their power; there are some who have definite potential to unlock their power deep within themselves, but due to certain factors they cannot call upon this hidden power.

Take Maple for example! She (like a few others that will be mentioned later on) has the potential to unlock her sparra, however she has several things that hold her back! The first issue is her lack of a creed and reason for fighting. If you recall, Maple was trained similarly to the knights of her home, however while she gained the physical prowess and conditioning to be a warrior; unfortunately, she lacks the code of honor the knights have, in addition to any code of her own. Maple wanted to become a warrior so that she could live a life of adventure and exploration, a goal that was predicated on her own desire and interests as opposed to a genuine want to help others. This doesn’t mean that Maple ONLY fights for herself as she will help others so long as its in her power or she’s certain she can; and this leads into the second reason Maple is denied her sparra: her lack of resolve. Maple, despite being well trained in the art of combat, is somewhat unsure of her skill and her ability to do things are certain times. This is the reason Maple will sometimes stay out of situations that don’t directly involve her or get anxious during battles, regardless of her odds.

However, when/if Maple were to overcome these mental obstacles, she would undoubtedly unlock her sparra; and if she were to join Oblivia’s forces, she would gain access to both her soul shroud and subsequent soul shard. While soul shards similar to fingerprints, in which they differ between each person; as such this is what Maple’s soul shroud would look like should she become an Apostle!
