I live in an area with a long nautical tradition/culture, and not far from a major naval base. Not long ago I had a rather enjoyable visit to the nearby historic dockyard, so I thought it'd be fitting to commemorate it with a nice little picture. I'm quite enamoured with the moorhens that you can meet locally: they're smaller than ducks, coots and other waterfowl (a fitting species to be a sailor), but have really big yellow webless feet to spread their weight out, allowing them to stand on vegetation heftier creatures cannot. They're really rather cute ^^
