Hotaru is peeling onions underwater. He did it so he wouldn't cry, for like his father said, "Real men don't cry." I feel the description given by  scubatiger works best here.

"My sons Shin and Hotaru. Sometimes I'm proud of them, other times, well........
They were driving me crazy arguing over video games all morning, even after I told them to stop.
So I gave them KP duty, peeling a sack of onions for a giant pot of chili I was going to make.
Then I had to hear them whine about the onions stinging their eyes. So I told them about the trick of peeling them underwater.
I then went out to buy more ground meat for the chili. Do they think to fill the kitchen sink and stick the onions in? NooOOOooOOooo.
I still don't know whether to be proud, amused or angry.
Didn't take long for their mom to decide how she felt about it though.
Maybe the boys and I can come out of hiding sometime next week."

I decided to color this for  yutari and I realized only halfway done that this would be a nightmare to do if I decided to shade/highlight it. GOD would this have been a nightmare. Look at the windows in the background, and using them as the source, imagine the shading and highlighting. It would have taken me ALOT of time and patience to get all that down, time and patience I don't have. So I decided to leave it as flats.

Shin is on the left, and I decided to have him wear black and grey (the man looks sexy in black), and Hotaru is on the right wearing green and white (he works well with those colors).

About the kitchen, don't call me lazy for having it all the same color, when the kitchen in every house I've ever lived in has had the same color.
