Maybe she should go in the door.

Honestly? Suzocon-sama? He didn't think anyone would even FIND the place. And normally, he'd be right! She never would have thought to look for that door if it wasn't for the blindingly obvious breadcrumb of Roko's scarf... which Suzocon did not see him place. And it still nearly backfired - the wind from the fight blew it off just as Saida locked eyes on it.
Still. if this were a D&D campaign, you're right: When messing around in an arcane artificer's lair ABSOLUTELY look for deathtraps.

An alarm, that I can believe. But as someone said, he comes and goes from there pretty regularly, and it would be annoying (and potentially dangerous) to have to deactivate and activate the traps every time. Forget once, and you get hoisted on your own petard. It's just much easier to put a magic lock on it, like he did the deployment crank for the shrine defenses.
THAT would not surprise me: The door isn't terribly secret, which means it's most likely magic-locked. But hey, you have a volcano dragon with both brute strength AND magic ability! He seriously underrated Saida's potential threat level already.
I quite look forward to his reaction when he finds his nasty little Dr. Frankenstein lab after Saida and Roko get through with it.
