I talked about him briefly in my journal, but this is my shadowmancer demon Alister <3

Alister is a shadow Djinn who specializes in trickery, deceit, and assassinations. He was a popular summon during a warring time period (Summoning Wars) until one side emerged victorious and quickly outlawed any and all summoning of demons.

Alister is summoned by an old lady who tasks him with helping to clean her house. He of course hates this work and threatens all horrible acts of violence to her but she just smiles and goes "that's nice dear" even though she's shown to be talented enough for a summoner to bind his mouth shut whenever she desires.

Overtime, there is a strange bond that forms between the two. She even names him Alister after her late son. One day, when he's summoned again, he staggers over and finds much of him 'missing' such as his face. The old lady had a heart attack mid summoning and died, leaving him incomplete.

He spends centuries taking care of the house in her place, as the contract of the summoning binds him to the place. Its only when people come to take a census that he's able to trick them into releasing the contract.

He cant return back to Gehenna where all Djins reside as he smells too much like a mortal and would be torn apart by his kin. So he's searching the world for someone who may know enough about summonings to bring his 'other half' over. Basically, looking for someone to complete him.
