So I've been editing my story, and I've got the first 8 chapters done.

I've completely gotten rid of the prologue, since it didn't have anything to do with the main story, and I've chopped off a lot of unnecessary details (telling, some excessive dialog), and I even wrote out one of the characters (he was barely even a character to begin with). I've also reformatted a lot of the paragraphs, so a bunch of them are smaller than they were before.

So, this is what I've come up with so far. It's still not 100% the way I want it, but I think it's a much smoother read now.
