Page 2 : The Skirmisher
The Skirmishers are much less common than the Regulars. They operate on a small team element and are assigned missions that are vastly different than what the main Imperial infantry tends to do. Their missions ranges from infiltration & espionnage, to sabotage & assassination, taking the mantle of special forces. They can and have been used as a bodyguard attachment for VIPs.
Another difference with the Regulars is that there are some requirements to be met in order to become a Skirmisher. The most eliminating factor for a large part of the Breeder population is height. Skirmishers are to be less than 190cm / 6'3" as to not stand out during an infiltration or stealth mission. This removes a huge amount of aspiring Breeders, whose average height commonly exceeds two meters.
Because of their role as spec-ops, Skirmishers are given the best and latest equipment the Empire produces. They were the first Imperial troops to be armed with energy-based weapons, the first also to integrate a form-fitting personal energy shield as part of their combat protections.
Their armor, despite being highly advanced, is not suited for prolonged combat. They are light infantry commandos and are not supposed to be battling in the frontlines. As a result, the Skirmishers wears a small amount of armor plates placed on their reinforced bodysuit. The personal shielding is expected to do most of the work in protecting them.
Both the bodysuit and the armor are made from the same technology, a semi-sentient alloy that is able to shape-shift to an extent in order to fit the forms of its wearer. Coupled with the many electronics inside the helmet, the suit almost becomes like an operational assistant to the Skirmisher.
Average height : 170 to 185cm / 5'7" to 6'1"
Average weight : 320kg to 360kg / 705lbs to 795lbs
